Rise

April 24, 2011

my birthday wish for every one

It’s Easter Sunday. And my 42nd birthday.

I keep smiling at that. Imbuing all sorts of meaning into it.

Today, is my re-birth day. I got up with Jesus, high-fiving me on his way out of this cave I’ve been living in.

Every day is a rebirth for all of us. In every moment lies the opportunity to rethink something and be reborn. To rise from under the albatross, the heaviness in our souls we carry when we’ve forgotten we are nothing less than perfectly whole & complete. Trust the empty dark void that any thought other than this brings; It is your Light.

I have an everyday religion that works for me. Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. ~Lucille Ball

This is a letter that I recently wrote to a friend. I could have just as easily written this note to myself, or to you for that matter…..So, go ahead. Pretend that I wrote this letter to you.

My Dearest old long time friend,

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought today would be a great time to write you an old fashioned letter to tell you how much I love you. Aren’t I such a romantic, writing and sending you a snail mail letter! Who does that any more? Ha! Who knows what romantic juices this note might inspire within you!

A group of family & friends are gathering today to join together in witnessing and blessing the marriage between these two. A very happy Music That Saves Me Friday.

As a little girl I came down to the water
With a little stone in my hand
It would shimmer and sing
And we knew everything
As a little girl I came down

Closer To My Dreams

October 22, 2010

This Friday, I’m in touch with deep feelings of gratitude and thanks. Seriously. I’m not just saying that ‘cuz I’m a coach and optimystical.

Gratitude for a 7 week old kitten. That just mysteriously “landed” in my universe Monday, October 11th. Mewing from under a car, where I crawled and maneuvered so I could catch him and pull him out of a wheel-well. So so scared. Heart beating fast. I remember hearing his cries for mom beginning around 4 am that morning and wondering “who’s kitty has been left outside?”

Jedi Moves: Discipline

May 27, 2010

Discipline. This word can crazy set some of us off, can’t it?

And self-discipline is at the root of it all. Right? Following your dreams. Running your biz. Taking care of yourself through it all.

For most of my life, I’ve kinda run from discipline. It’s been a sort of ‘bad’ word. It meant restriction and scarcity to me.

And starting from early, early adulthood, I was so excited and ready to get out there. And do it my way. Experience a freedom to do what I please.

Soon I realized that there are responsibilities and things that I need to remind my self of regularly in order to keep life moving along comfortably (roof over my head, light bill paid, food on the table).

Permission To Write

October 9, 2009

Or How To Scare Yourself Write to The Edge

I’ve noticed this thing, it’s in me and a lot of the wonderfully creative ambitious women I talk to everyday, this idea that we need permission.

Permission to be ourselves. Permission to follow our hearts & dreams. Permission to receive and allow in the giving from others. And when it comes to your technology and getting your blog on, spattering your web pages with words, with the juice of your heart and giving yourself permission to write. Permission to call yourself a writer.
