What is Fear?
It’s a good question. Take moment. And another.
Did you consider “What fear? I’m really not afraid of much.” Great! And good for you. Seriously. Stop reading. The rest of this will bore you. It will no longer be interesting from this point forward.
If, however, you have ever wondered how and what fear is connected to in your life, you are in the right place!
Harder to Ignore
If you look around our world today, fear is getting louder and harder to ignore. Most of the time, some kind of crisis unfolds in our life, calling us inward to be fearless with ourselves. Figuring out how to be happy. Telling our self truths. Truths that sometimes don’t match what others might think is best or better or right or wise or whatever.
Most crises is personal meaning the world seems to be doing OK, but you don’t. However, today is literally ‘interesting times’ and crises is actually happening in our world. The economy is the big obvious one. And there are more. Everyone’s asking for more accountability too. From Wall Street to Main Street and every place in between, accountability. If this is what we want, then each individual gets to become more accountable at a personal level, to themselves and for what each of us is doing to create a better tomorrow.
For Or Against
Either we are adding to life or being miserable and complaining about it. Really only two options. For or Against. A dynamic that is just about to be retired into the halls of dysfunctional behavior because we’re finally realizing it doesn’t get us anywhere but more deeply entrenched into the problem we’d like resolved.
Without sounding too cliché, there is another option. We can focus on what we CAN control (like our own actions and behaviors). We can take responsibility for what we think, everyday. We can update our outdated ways of living by choosing to become a better person today. We can intend to be better and make new choices.
Seeing our fear and how it isn’t helping us to become better people is a beginning. You can decide to see what’s possible for yourself with less fear and you join with the ton of other folks on our planet doing the same thing. Or, not. And if you do nothing today, what can happen?
Accountable is… ‘I Want To’
I help people change themselves, not because they need to, because they want to. They care about tomorrow… theirs, yours, ours. They believe that mastering fear in their own lives contributes to a friendlier, more peaceful world. And even if it doesn’t change *the* world, it certainly changes individual worlds, which does indeed, change our world.
I believe the world needs more people who have come alive to their own personal ability to create healthier, happier lives. And so I ask what if fear is what is precisely in the way of experiencing more of what you want? How might your life be different if you had new ways of looking at fear and dealing with it? And what if you learned how to do things differently, and this created different results in your life?
