Optimysm + Expansion

Toward The Rising Sun

March 19, 2012

May Ostara bring joy and easiness into your life.

May her fertility be passed over to you and may your dreams,
ideas, wishes, plans ripen and bear new fruits.

May the loveliness of spring open your heart and
may you understand the beauty of being and take it in.

Full of strength and new energy,
you shall walk into the brightness
of the awakening spring
and you shall leave the darkness
of the past time behind.

Let go all former burdens
and get rid of the ballast still hindering you.
Free and with new strength
your feet shall carry you
toward dawn.

May Ostara bless us all!

My 2012: The Pooh Way

December 30, 2011

the tao of pooh by benjamin hoff

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” asked Piglet, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”

“What’s for breakfast?!” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”

“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said.

Back to my roots. Back to me.

It’s been over 17-years since my cousin, Layla, said, “Here… you’ll love this!” and handed me Benjamin Hoff’s The Tao of Pooh.

I was in Oregon. On sabbatical. During the long ending to my first marriage that lasted eight years.

How To Finish

December 22, 2011

I’ve got two days to go. Two days until I press publish. Again. This time it’s different. This time, it’s birth & rebirth. More expansion, optimysm. A bigger baby.

Here’s something I’ve learned about myself in this process that I thought might be helpful for you but mostly, selfishly, I want to remind myself for when I do this again.

You’ve got to set a date.

Create a short-term goal. Or you’ll never do it.

Think about your life for a minute. All the times you’ve done something really big. There’s always been some kind of driving force… usually time (a deadline). The boss needs it next week. The client needs it tomorrow. Your kid needs it today!

Dream On

October 6, 2011

If you’re in my inner circle, you know, what’s been going down with my sailboat plans.

Which is this… I don’t know shit.

Really.

And I am in the dark, as much as you.

All you need to know (and that I keep reminding myself) is that I have a dream. And I happen to believe that if I can think it, the means to create & fulfill it are freely available to help the dream take shape and become a physical reality.

Green Light!

August 17, 2011

The Green Light by Ted Percival on Flickr

Green light!

Time to share your special talents
with the world.

Do so without looking back.

Take no notice of what others
might say or do
in response to your gift.

Simply know you are brilliant,
and that light which you offer
is equally brilliant.

Dedicated to all my webifying clients
who believe they are not yet ready to launch.

The Cool Cats Club

August 12, 2011

This post is about coolness. If you got it. Why you want it. And cats.

cool cats 1994 by lizadreams

It was Tuesday morning. I had packed up my things for a very needed work/life balance activity known as vacation. At the last second, I headed back up to my office and dug out my printed copy of Danielle LaPorte’s The Spark Kit (formerly The Fire Starter Sessions).

My hunch was that for some of the 12 hours (one-way) of commuting California’s I-5, I’d have some time to read. To finish it. Since I never had. Even though the portion I had read thoroughly rocked the me that’s learning to love and adore her self more, everyday.

Invisible Help

August 10, 2011

While on vacation last week, I snapped these photos and then later recognized something that hadn’t been there before.  Two days later, while driving home, I finished reading Danielle LaPorte’s The Spark Kit (formerly The Fire Starter Sessions).

Bill Moyers to Joseph Campbell:  Do you ever have this sense when you are following your bliss, as I have at moments, of being helped by hidden hands?

I was talking with a client yesterday. She was freaking out. Which happens during the webification process. Six Ways To Staying Optimystical…” was born in a client freak out moment. Danielle LaPorte may have mid-wived it, but the essence of it was drawn from past experience and many moments of messiness.

During moments like the one my client was having and really throughout the entire webification process, I find myself referring all of us back for a review often. The rules for optimystical web presencing can be applied generously throughout your webification adventure and really to everything else in your life and biz.

I have an everyday religion that works for me. Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. ~Lucille Ball

This is a letter that I recently wrote to a friend. I could have just as easily written this note to myself, or to you for that matter…..So, go ahead. Pretend that I wrote this letter to you.

My Dearest old long time friend,

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought today would be a great time to write you an old fashioned letter to tell you how much I love you. Aren’t I such a romantic, writing and sending you a snail mail letter! Who does that any more? Ha! Who knows what romantic juices this note might inspire within you!

Relationships & Alignment

February 14, 2011

The topic of all time. Yes. Think about it.

I’ve had my share of radio broadcasting experience. Always, someone wants to know about Love. Their love life… or usually, the lack of it. A partner. An intimate compadre. With benefits!!! Because love is mixed up with lust and desire and sexuality too. We want it all. Right? And especially when we don’t have it. We REALLY want it!

Today is the day. We bow down before our idol: a big giant red heart trimmed in lacey doily stuff with a hidden “dark” underneath… sweet & melty.
